Who was promoting 1Malaysia first?
Fifteen years ago, I would never go to the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia fearing that I will be chopped into pieces if I was involved in an accident with a Malay fellow or their kampung chicken. Seeing a PAS flag would caution me to be extremely careful as it was a label of "unsafe" territory for non-Malays.

Stories of non-Malay motorists being beaten to death was the first thing that crossed my mind whenever I saw these flags hung across the truck roads many years back. It also reminded me that if I was involved in an accident, never, never stop but drive all the way to the nearest police station, it was safer. (Police stations were safer back then).
Same goes for a DAP flag, the rocket. It was to me at that time never a symbol of democracy but a symbol of communism, the China way of administration. I was not comfortable with the party and kept a fair distance away as it was the opposition party. Well, that was 15 long years ago. Time has passed and people changed, I changed.
Today, I see PAS championing non-Malay issues, DAP fights for non-Chinese communities. What a change of perspective indeed. I believe this is 1 Malaysia, where leaders from different race care for other races without discrimination.
Maybe there were no policies changed all these while as far as these parties are concerned, and they have been promoting 1 Malaysia all along but it was just my believes that changed. It was the changes in the political scene that made me realized how easily one can be blinded by political "smoke screens".
So, you tell me, who promoted 1 Malaysia first?

Scuffle in Parliament.
Megat Zulkarnain seems to warn Bukit Bendera MP Liew Chin Tong during the confrontation in the Parliament compound.Another "wayang" by UMNO Youth, maybe there is another candidate for position of kepala UMNO Youth. Want to show terror, want to play hero, die for UNMO konon. Die for money maybe.
Karpal used words, UNMO Youth used force and they really looked like some gangsters from behind the alleys. If you have seen one, you have seen all. Behave, be properly represented, state your case, not show of force. Don't be like in some countries, they beat up each other silly in Parliament, it is not our culture. "Jagalah maruah sendiri, budi bahasa budaya kita"
Malaysian Insider KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — A group from Selangor Umno Youth, led by its Serdang chief Ungku Mat Salleh, attempted to stop DAP veteran leader Karpal Singh from entering the Parliament building today to demand that he apologise for saying yesterday that Umno Youth was responsible for sending bullets in the mail to him recently.
Pakatan Rakyat representatives N. Gobalakrishnan and Lim Lip Eng tried to protect Karpal but were roughed up by the Umno group members. Karpal eventually managed to make it into the Dewan Rakyat safely.
Also present outside the Parliament building was Gombak Umno Youth chief Megat Zulkarnain Omardin who told reporters that they are Umno members who are willing to die defending the party.

First of all, Karpal is not like the others who are easily scared, like he mentioned earlier, ” If you are looking for trouble, this is the right place”. He is a fighter and he has the people behind him. It takes more than a few bullets to silence this old but wise warrior of justice.PENANG, Feb 20 — DAP chairman Karpal Singh received a letter containing two live bullets at his home here yesterday. However, he was not in at the time. He made a report at the Penang police headquarters, accompanied by his son Jagdeep Singh Deo. He told reporters later that the bullets together with a note were found in an envelope by his clerk. “The envelope was found in my post box at my home by my clerk Ahad Hassan, and it was handed to my legal firm in Green Hall. “When it was opened at my office by another clerk, the envelope was found to contain two live bullets and a handwritten note,” the veteran politician said. The writer of the note threatened to kill Karpal and his family. Karpal believed the threat was related to the political issue in Perak. — Bernama
Perakians to decide
Now that's a smart person talking. The people of Perak has been asking for this from the beginning ever since the "rampasan kuasa" by BN. New MB suspended with his excos because of some kind of misconduct or was it someone complained about them, old MB suing the new MB for things that nearly half of the Perakians do not understand (too many lawyer language), everything is too "technical". While you guys are fighting in court, do you have time for the rakyat? So what if one side wins due to technicality, it is just like a technical knock out in boxing, not like a real Knock Out which is decisive and final. If you don't stand up by the tenth counts, you are out! So, put up your gloves and stop wasting people's time. KUALA LUMPUR: The legal wrangle in Perak is best settled by going back to the people for an effective and definitive solution, said Bar Council president Datuk S.Ambiga.
“There is a reality on the ground that we must face. While we wrestle with these constitutional and legal issues, the legal actions are not the first and are unlikely to be the last.
“This does not provide an effective and definitive solution,” said Ambiga in a press statement.
The Bar urged all parties to seriously consider doing so, not only in the interest of Perak folks, but also in the interest of stability and the nation

Anwar promises proof of BN blackmail

Let’s empty the closet, people need to know the “tricks” politicians use to discredit or “eliminate” others. Abang Anwar, expose them and describe the details in full.
Malaysian Insider KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 — Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he will expose how threats and inducements are used against Pakatan Rakyat state assemblymen and members of parliament in his speech in parliament tomorrow.
“I am going to show proof of blackmail in my parliament speech tomorrow,”
Pakatan Rakyat leaders have been under ferocious pressure with talk of defections rife ever since three Perak state representatives switched their support from the fledging coalition earlier this month giving BN a lead in the state assembly and causing the ouster of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaludin.
It is speculated that the proof that Anwar plans to present tomorrow will be related to the resignation of PKR’s Bukit Selambau state assemblyman V Arumugam on February 8. The resignation was allegedly due to pressure exerted by BN on Arumugam to defect.
Most recently, naked photographs of PKR’s Bukit Lanjan state representative Elizabeth Wong have been leaked to the media and Pakatan Rakyat has been quick to label the photos as BN’s attempt at gutter politics aimed at discrediting the Selangor state government with which Wong was a state executive councillor.

92% says Elizabeth Wong’s Career Intact
In the polls results in NTV7 today, the public voted that Elizabeth Wong’s career will not be effected by her private photos. So, Eli we are all here to support you.
Elizabeth Wong quits over nude photos

Malaysian Insider KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 – Selangor executive councillor and Bukit Lanjan assemblywoman Elizabeth Wong broke down in tears as she announced her resignation from both posts today following the circulation of her nude photographs.
“I have received overwhelming support from family and my constituents but in the interest of my party, I have decided to offer my resignation as exco member and State Assemblyman for Bukit Lanjan,” she said while trying to contained her tears.
She said the event of the last two days have shown an insidious and underhanded attempt by certain quarters to smear her reputation.
“My personal life and privacy has been violated.”
The human rights activist and environmentalist will be the third politician in recent history to quit posts due to such photographs or video. The first was then deputy speaker of parliament D.P. Vijandran in 1989 who quit after pornographic tapes featuring him surfaced. Last year, Health Minister Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek resigned on New Year’s Day under similar circumstances.
If her resignation is accepted, it will lead to a by-election in Bukit Lanjan.
