Penang Car Free Day
The Car Free Day will take place every Sunday at certain stretches of roads in George Town. Motorised vehicles, including motorcycles, are disallowed on these stretches from 7am to 5pm.
Beach Street will be off limits to motor vehicles from the China Street junction to the Union Street junction, while both Bishop Street and Church Street will be closed from the Beach Street junction to the Penang Street junction. The whole of Church Street Ghaut will be closed.

Penang International Science Fair draws thousands
The Penang International Science Fair held on Dec 10 at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) attracts more than 5,000 visitors especially students and parents.

WWW for Kg Jawa community
Adun Pantai Jerejak, Sim Tze Tzin set up the first library and internet center for Kg Jawa community in Penang. This is to encourage children and teenagers to read and learn to surf the internet. Sim added that there will be five more such centers around Bayan Baru area in the near future.
