Brickfields local traders losing out to foreigners
Local traders are making ends meet at Brickflieds, Kuala Lumpur. One shop owner said that many shops are closing down despite being called the Little India famous for its textile business in capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
Thilaga, who has been involved in the textile business indicates a 70% drop in business. She claims that foreign traders from India and Pakistan are grabbing most of the business by selling sub standard products.
She also blamed middle man traders for sub letting booths along the main street of Brickfields to foreign traders during this Deepavali festive season. According to her, this has worsen the situation.
