Malaysia sama taraf dengan Algeria
Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng says Malaysia's press freedom index just went down a few more notches after the recent Bersih 3.0 rally with scores of journalists abused and attacked by police.
"World Press Freedom Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO's General Conference. Since then, 3 May, the anniversary of the Declaration of Windhoek is celebrated worldwide as World Press Freedom Day. It is an opportunity to:
1. celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom;
2. assess the state of press freedom throughout the world;
3. defend the media from attacks on their independence;
4. pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
