What's Up With Chinese?

A story about a high school graduate, Kok Lun who gave up on applying for the local university because he thinks that the system is unfair to non-Malays. He lamented to his friend, James who tried and actually got in. Kok Lun began to work as a VCD seller and he himself perpetuated the cycle of discrimination by only recruiting assistants who are of Chinese ethnicity.

Malaysia is South Africa, how true!

The new generation of Malays are hardworking and they are very proud of their achievements without the help from the government. They have pride too and if Tan Sri did not notice it, please open your eyes. Please do not look down on your own race. As for the NEP, I am not sure how this scheme works with bumiputras and non-bumiputras, but I know for sure Chinese and Indians in Malaysia bearly get to enjoy it.
But if the government's intention is to create more lazy people in society, please continue to provide such special privileges. There is no end to what you can offer.
Stop encouraging people to be lazy. Apparently, the motive government had in mind was to control a large majority of lazy people in return for their votes in the general elections.
I have the opinion that, yes, we are living in South Africa where previously special privileges were awarded to the Orang Putih. Any difference with the current situation in Malaysia? The government is providing more seats in the universities to Malays (bumiputras, well I am not sure) rather than Chinese or Indians. Special discounts for Malays and Bumiputras when they buy houses.
"Malays and other bumiputras were enshrined in the Constitution and should not be questioned". Why only them? Why not include other Malaysians? This is 2009, not 1970.
Time has changed, mindset has evolved, Malaysians will reform.
KOTA KINABALU: Umno vice president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin slammed Johor opposition leader Dr Boo Cheng Hau for playing racial politics by comparing “bumiputraism” with South Africa’s former apartheid system.

Muhyiddin said he was shocked by Dr Boo’s statement as it could cause undue racial tensions.
“I don’t know why, he as an elected assemblyman, would want to make such a statement when it could bring about racial tensions. It just shows DAP’s narrow political agenda, which does not take into account the country’s political situation and historical events.

“It is clear that Dr Boo does not understand our history and Malaysia’s position in comparison to other countries,” he said after attending the Sabah Umno-organised introductory session for Umno candidates to meet state delegates.

He said the special rights of Malays and other bumiputras were enshrined in the Constitution and should not be questioned.

Who is "Bumiputra"?

Bumiputera or Bumiputra is a Malay term widely used in Malaysia, embracing ethnic Malays, Javanese, Bugis, Minang and occasionally other indigenous ethnic groups such as the Orang Asli in Peninsular Malaysia and the tribal peoples in Sabah and Sarawak. This term comes from the Sanskrit word Bhumiputra, which can be translated literally as "son of earth" (bhumi= earth, putra=prince) or prince of the soil. Economic policies designed to favour Bumiputras (including affirmative action in public education) were implemented in the 1970s purportedly to defuse inter-ethnic tensions following the May 13 Incident in 1969. These policies have succeeded in creating a significant urban Malay middle class but have been less effective in eradicating poverty among rural communities and have caused a backlash of resentment from excluded groups (such as the Chinese and Indian Malaysians).

Child porno and traffic summon no difference

Hello Mr. Anti Corruption (Ahmad Said), stop saying that most men have such contents in their phone. I would like to see if your handphone has such contents since you so brave to place a bet.
Nevertheless, no matter how you do not want to associate with your son in this case, he is still your son, have you heard to the saying,"Like father like son?". The case was very simple and clear to the Australian authorities, but what I do not understand is how confused you are about a plain right or wrong? What is so misleading to you?
Therefore, I just wonder how you conduct investigations on those corrupted people (until proven guilty, of course), can you differentiate between left and right or guilty and innocent? Obviously, you cannot differentiate between child porno and a traffic summon.

1 March 2009 PUTRAJAYA: As chief commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan is fully aware that all his actions and that of his family members as well will always come under public scrutiny.

Ahmad Said has been attacked in blogs and via e-mail over the issue of his son bringing child pornographic material into Aus-tralia. His son, a pilot, pleaded guilty and paid a fine for the offence.

Ahmad Said vehemently denies that it was child pornography. He said that the titles of the video clips found in his son’s laptop computer were misleading.
“I can bet with you that it’s something that you will find on most men’s handphones,” he said. “Why are they targeting me? I did nothing over there. It’s like committing a traffic offence here and paying the summons – and then the father gets blamed for it. Is that fair? It’s brainless,” he said.
